In the Mediterranean, where water scarcity is already affecting territories in tangible ways, regions are being pushed to rethink how this essential resource is managed and valued.
Within the BLUE ECOSYSTEM project, this challenge is being addressed in Cyprus, where water management has been identified as a key priority. Through a co-creation process involving public authorities, researchers, businesses, and civil society, three innovative solutions have been developed: an open-access water data platform, an educational game to promote water awareness, and a decentralized system for rainwater harvesting and wastewater treatment in rural areas. These initiatives show how public authorities, researchers, businesses, and civil society can work together to turn a shared challenge into practical, scalable solutions.
BLUE ECOSYSTEM will be present at the CPMR IMC General Assembly, taking place in Bolognia next 18 and 19 June, during the Dialogue4Innovation TIP Lab policy forum.
